MAJOR CONELRAD UPDATE — Please REBLOG!
- I’ve soundtracked a game (music, voice, sound fx) and it’s out now for free
- The conelrad site has had a major overhaul, with info on commissions etc
I was asked a while back to soundtrack the iphone/ipad game Cruel Jewels. This project has finally come to fruition, and it’s absolutely great. Beautiful hand-drawn HD visuals, addictive gameplay, and a suitable soundtrack by me. I also did voice acting. -_- Go get it from itunes now for free!
Secondly, the conelrad site has had a major overhaul. I’ve completely redesigned it, and as well as the entire conelrad back catalogue, it now allows streaming of most of the albums from their pages, it has information on licencing my tracks for use in your projects (still usually free if it’s a non-profit project), it has info on commissioning me (yes, you could hire conelrad to soundtrack your project!!), new background information, and also some blurb about each of the releases. Also a donate button. :I just saying.
Anyway!! Do check it out!! AND PLEASE REBLOG THIS IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY SEE YOURSELF DOING SO!! I’m giving away a bunch of music for free here and I want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to get it!
WE are in the final 9 hours of you being able to get a physical copy of our shrekless abandon zine! If you were thinkin about it all this time, please get one now or NEVER! After tonight, we will shut off the preorders and print up what has been ordered and send them out once the stickers get in to us.
Thanks to those who have bought a copy or spread the word! This has been a fun thing for all of us to try and we are gonna try again with some other movies. BUT FIRST, we focus on getting this thing to you once everything is said and done.
“Goodbye Pork Pie Hat” by Jeff Beck
(Music: Charles Mingus, Album: Wired, Epic 1976)
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it till y’all believe me: Jeff Beck is the greatest living guitarist. Listen to the intro to his version of this Charles Mingus classic and hear the incredible tone he has. Throughout the song, he has absolutely impeccable phrasing. He can begin with a beautifully constructed melody and gradually deconstruct it into a chaotic fury all the while maintaining the song’s integrity. Even at his most out-of-control, Beck is in absolute control. And it’s the ability to play both ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between and to write or adapt songs that allow him to showcase these skills while still remaining an enjoyable listen that make him the greatest living guitarist.
Beck is an amazing guitarist.
this is spectacular
